C.J. Gardner-Johnson has been labeled by some in the media as a "toxic" presence in NFL locker rooms. Over the past four seasons, he has weared four different clubs’s NFL jerseys; notably, during the 2025 season, he suited up for both the Texans and the Bears.
Gardner-Johnson, who signed with the Bills this offseason, recently stated in an interview that he has been misunderstood. After winning a championship in the Philadelphia Eagles football jersey the previous season, he signed with the Texans in 2025. However, he was subsequently released; after joining the Chicago Bears, he recorded two interceptions and 51 tackles across 11 games—yet even this performance was not enough to secure a long-term stay.
Fully aware of his personality and reputation, Gardner-Johnson is deeply grateful to the Buffalo Bills for placing their trust in him, though he also hopes to eventually land a long-term contract.
